Apple released several models and updates for their respective products such MacBooks and MacBook Pros. But the question from every Apple users: how about the Mac desktops? Tim Cook answered it directly and promised for the upcoming great iMac desktops.
Mac desktops had only three updates for a couple of years. iMac refreshed last October 2015, Mac Mini in October 2013, and Mac Pro updated last December 2013. It has been two years ago since the Apple paid attention with their desktops. The company focused on their new high-tech gadgets since it became sensational and earned big sales in the market.
In an internal forum that TechCrunch reported, Tim Cook, Apple CEO, said "Some folks in the media have raised the question about whether we're committed to desktops. If there's any doubt about that with our teams, let me be very clear: we have great desktops in our roadmap."
He also included the importance of the desktops since users can provide the fastest performance, large screen, large memory and storage, and greater variety of I/O. In addition, Mac desktops were considered as the best desktop that Apple company has ever made and that is the reason why they are preparing for greater models and updates for Mac desktop users.
On the other hand, there are speculations that Apple will reveal their iMac 2017 on a March 2017 event. It was also said that the new iMac will feature a 27-inch 5K Retina display which is somehow similar to iMac 2015 and OLED Touch bar support will be included.
There's a huge possibility that iMac 2017 might feature Intel Xeon processor instead of using Kaby Lake Chipset. Intel Xeon is one of the most powerful processors used for high-end PCs nowadays since it serves great performance that every desktop users would wish for. Though there are no confirmations has been made, it gives excitement for every desktop users. If that happens, 2017 could be a great year for all Apple users that once again, there will be a new line-up of Mac desktop.
