Konami has just sent over new details about Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which reveal that the game has seen quite a price drop. Both physical and digital versions of the game for Xbox One and PS4 will release at $29.99, basically half the price of a typical next-gen game. PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers can buy a retail version for the same price or download a digital version for a mere $19.99. Along with that exciting news they've announced other features, including exclusive DLC that carries over to The Phantom Pain and an "iDROID" App that lets you use your Apple or Android phone as a secondary screen to enhance the experience.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes had come under some criticism for not being a full Metal Gear Solid game, due to the fact that it's a shorter title meant to serve as a prequel to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, so perhaps this is the best response they could have had to it. They've been quick to point out how great the game looks across all platforms, although the PS4 version is the only one that will output the graphics at 1080p.
Ground Zeroes will come with exclusive DLC that will provide you extra resources to build your "Mother Base" area that will be available in The Phantom Pain. " Mother Base is introduced during the events of GROUND ZEROES and plays a central role in the forthcoming METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN." says Konami. The added staff for the base will give you an edge in the next title. This is only available to early adopters of the game, however, as the code to download it will only be packaged with the first batch of retail copies and for a limited period of time in the digital version.

Anyone who buys the game will be able to unlock exclusive content that carries over to The Phantom Pain, however, such as prisoners of war and VIPs that you rescue. They'll be added to the Mother Base staff and give you an early advantage in the game. Character skins will carry over as well, so it's likely that if you want one of these games, you'll want both.
Another newly announced feature is the second-screen iDROID app, which will replicate the classic in-game communication device in the game. You'll be able to download the app on iOS, Android and Xbox Smart Glass for free and use your phone as the iDROID to call up maps, summon air support or play cassette tapes found in the game world.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be available in stores and online on March 18th, 2014.
