"Naruto Shippuden" continues with the important filler episodes involving Sasuke's mission to uncover the identity of the mastermind behind the "Detonating Man." In Episode 487, Fuushin who has been hiding behind the mask of Nowaki, reveals himself to Sasuke. Episode 488 will see the conclusion of Sasuke's Shinden arc.

Sasuke finds himself in a heated battle in the "Coliseum." The fight was halted halfway through when spectators started exploding. Sasuke is trying to save them and limit the collateral damage when Captain Yamato of the Hidden Leaf Village showed up to help.
En Oyashiro invites Sasuke and Orochimaru to his private suite and explained what he knew about Fuushin. En Oyashiro revealed that Sasuke, the last living member of the Uchiha Clan, was the target of Fuushin and his "Detonating Man" not the Hidden Leaf Village. Oyashiro also explained the relationship between the Uchiha clan and the Chinoike clan in the past.
Armed with this new information, Sasuke travels to the Hell Village with the young Chino and Nawaki. The trio was attacked once they stepped foot in the village. Sasuke bids Nawaki take care of Chino and went after their assailant. Sasuke finally catches up and, using his Sharingan, forced the attacker to reveal what he knows about Fuushin.
Nawaki arrives on the scene and reveals himself to be Fuushin, a fact that Sasuke already knows because of the information he got from his attacker. Now that Sasuke has come face to face with the mastermind behind the "Detotaning Man," it looks like they'll finally go toe to toe. "Naruto Shippuden" episode 487 will be aired on December 22, 2016, and is entitled "Sasuke's Story: Sunrise, Part 4: Kerryugan."
"Naruto Shippuden" Episode 488 Spoilers: Sasuke Shinden Arc Concludes
Episode 488 will see the conclusion of Sasuke's mission. Will Sasuke win his fight against the powerful Kekkei genkai user? If Fuushin could have hidden in plain sight from Sasuke who has the Sharingan, what other tricks does he have under his sleeve? Will it be enough for Fuushin to defeat Sasuke?
"Naruto Shippuden" episode 488 will be the last episode in the Sasuke Shinden Arc. Episode 488, entitled "Sasuke's Story: Sunrise, Part 5: The Last Man Standing," will air on January 5, 2017, after a 1-week hiatus.
"Naruto Shippuden" Episode 489 Spoilers: Shikamaru Shinden Arc
The Shikamaru Shinden Arc will immediately follow Sasuke's Shinden Arc and will be aired on January 12, 2017. The Shikamaru arc will open in "Naruto Shippuden" episode 489 and will be based on the Japanese book titled "Shikamaru Shiden: A Cloud Drifting in Silent Darkness." The story will follow Shikamaru's journey 2 years after the Great Shinobi Wars.
