As gamers, Steam sales are some of our favorite times of the year, though our wallets may disagree. It's a chance to buy a new title you wanted, grab games you may not have gotten around to before at a reduced price, or collect a digital copy of an old favorite. Steam is offering dozens and dozens of Ubisoft games on sale through the weekend, so if you're a fan of the publisher's games (or don't know if you are), get shopping!
Starting today, the sale will go until Monday, February 24, with new deals available each day. Highlighting the start of the Ubisoft weekend are deals for the entire Assassin's Creed franchise (minus the newest game, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag), with sales on Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed III.
They're all priced the same at $12.99, a 35% decrease in their normal cost. If you've wanted to jump in on the franchise, stopped playing it along the way, or are missing an entry in the series, now would probably be the time!
In addition, there are sales on the Splinter Cell¸ Far Cry, Ghost Recon and Prince of Persia franchises, along with several others and some stand-alone titles. It's nearly overwhelming how many games have deals on the first day of the sales-you wonder how they could possibly have enough for four more days!
I personally recommend the excellent Anno 2070 (75% off!) if you're into the strategy genre, as well as either Rayman Origins or Rayman Legends, both of which are great games. The sale promises up to 75% off on games and most of the deals today are discounted 35%, so maybe the best is yet to come.
As a general tip, Steam tends to revisit top games that had a deal earlier in the sale on the last day or two, and might reduce the price on something you want even further-so patience may be rewarded! Check their site here or in your Steam program store through Monday, happy shopping.
