I admittedly hate touch screen controls as my thumbs smudge the screen and block my view, but despite this, I have to admit, the first Dead Trigger was easily one of the more impressive mobile games I played on my Android smartphone. For a humble mobile game, it looked great, and the controls were very impressive, exactly as responsive as you think you'd need for a FPS. I even tried sideloading the app into my Ouya in a failed experiment before the console was relegated to collecting dust on a bookshelf somewhere in the depths of my basement.
Without the larger screen of a tablet to drag my fingers across, I passed on the well-received sequel when it launched last month, so you can imagine my joy now that the zombie's shoot 'em up sequel is good to go as a free-to-play, bloody brouhaha on Facebook.
If you've already progressed into the bowels of Dead Trigger 2's infested planet, good news, because you can play the game on the social networking site and continue along will the progress you made on your mobile device.
In a press release, Madfinger Games CEO Marek Rabas confirmed that game progress will be synced across Android, iOS, and Facebook editions of the game, saying, "We have a standard that allows multiple users to save their progress on a shared device with one account. This means that game progress will be synced across devices. So every activity in the game on one device will be reflected on the others, including Facebook."
I booked it over to the game's Facebook page to give it a whirl, but it seems I'm not the only one looking forward to playing it. I was able to get in once, but upon a second try (and every following one), I've been getting "fatal content error" messages, which I chalk up to either crowds, or the fact that the Facebook version is a development build, meaning everything isn't running as smoothly as you might hope.
If you're feelin' lucky, go give it a shot, and I'll get back to you with a review as soon as I can get the game goin', but with over 30 weapons to choose from to bash in the brain eaters, I already have a good feeling about this one.
