Another week, another character sampling for Double Helix's free to play revamp of Killer Instinct. After putting Orchid up on the auction block last week, the game's remaining brawling broad is now ready for fans to try at no cost. A post on PlayXBLA confirmed that none other than the web spinning assassin Sadira is good to go.
Sadira was the first female character for the developer to reveal, and the only new character. She boasts some serious ninja techniques and a flashy style, flipping and spinning in and out of combos. She's armed with all manner of blades, with giant wrist gauntlets and two talons protruding from between her knuckles. She also seems to have a penchant for arachnids, fighting enemies in a cave home to a giant spider, and thwips the sort of webs that would make Peter Parker jealous. Watching her put the hurt on Sabrewulf in the trailer below looks more like an animal cruelty video, but he's a werewolf, he can take it.
Also up for grabs is Jago's retro outfit (seen below) for anyone who wants a better look at the squawking ninja's abs. The throwback costume was originally offered in the Ultra and Combo Breaker Editions of the game.
As for what the future holds for Killer Instinct, fans are still waiting on the arrival of the A.I. menace Fulgore, who is expected to arrive sometime in March. According to a post on the Double Helix forums, a patch is also on the way that will focus on the jail system, ranked matchmaking, and some specific issues with the skeletal warrior Spinal.
