It's the moment you've all been waiting for, Xbox One and PC gamers. Titanfall's beta is now open for registration. Head over to this page ASAP and get signed up! The closed beta is a large-scale event (although no official word on how many people will be invited) and is coming in a few short days on February 14th. Valentine's Day is going to be good for gamers, what with this and the GTA Online free content update. Check out the Beta's trailer below to see what's in store for you!
While matches will be capped at 12-player, 6 on 6 battles, the Titanfall beta will consist of three different game modes.
Attrition - Basically team deathmatch, where teams gain points by eliminating anyone or anything on the opposing side - pilots, titans and AI soldiers.
Hardpoint Domination - Much like Domination in Call of Duty or other popular multiplayer games, each team has to capture three different points on a map and hold them to gain points and win the match.
Last Titan Standing - everyone gets Titans and the match ends when one team loses all of theirs. You're not able to respawn titans and you can't call down any replacements. We've heard about all three titans in the past- the light, medium and heavy versions, and an all-out battle with them sounds amazing.
Certainly sounds like you'll be getting plenty of work out of these three modes, although there's no word on how many maps are available. But hey, are you going to complain about a free beta? The people playing the alpha certainly look like they had fun.
Titanfall is coming to Xbox One and PC on March 11th, 2014 in North America and beginning March 13th, 2014 in Europe. The Xbox 360 version is being developed by Bluepoint Games and will be released on March 25th, 2014 in North America and March 28th, 2014 in Europe.
