"Electronic Sports (EA)" has already released a new piece of Battlefield 1 art that appears to tease the new, playable French army. An image posted to the Battlefield Twitter account today is captioned, "Soyez prêts," which means "Be ready." The image portrays an intense-looking shootout in bunker. French flags hang from the walls.
The Battlefield 1 website claims that the DLC for the game will introduce at least two new armies, including France and the Russian empire. As mentioned previously, "Battlefield 1's They Shall Not Pass" expansion will add the French army. The expansion, the game's first paid one, arrive this coming March 2017.
You can get They Shall Not Pass and all of Battlefield 1's other DLC through the game's $50 season pass. The free map launches on December 20 for everyone else. A shotgun-only custom game mode, "Eye to Eye" will also be launched.
Meanwhile, other users are also complaining about EA servers being down. "Down Detector," is an online service that provides updates about online outages has also confirmed that EA servers are down and there are hundreds of comments from users cursing at EA.
It is yet unclear if wither the outage is due to a technical issue or this is a DDoS attack. For example, last year on Christmas evening EA servers were shut down after a cyber-attack from "Phantom Squad." "Phantom Squad" has admitted the responsibility for conducting DDoS attack on EA impacting "Battlefield 1" servers for users all over the world.
In their latest tweet, attackers from Phantom Squad said they will be keeping Battlefield 1 servers down and they are waiting for starskids to have an autistic breakdown.
"We will be keeping Battlefield 1 servers down. We are waiting for starkids to have an autistic Breakdown," as stated by Phantom Squad in a twitter post.
