"Pokemon Go" includes majority of the 151 Pokemon from the original Pokedex, with some harder to find than others. Here are some tips on how to catch the four region-exclusive Pokémon.
Finding the Four Region-Specific Creatures in 'Pokemon Go'
Eurogamer reported that Farfatch'd, Tauros, Mr. Mime and Kangaskhan are the four region-locked creatures in "Pokemon Go," which means that these can only be found and captured in certain places in the world. Even compared to legendary Pokemon, the region-locked creatures are deemed to be the rarest because not everyone can conveniently travel to the countries where they are found.
Tauros is a normal-type Pokemon, exclusive to North America. According to "Pokemon Go" players Tauros can generally be found anywhere in the region, including deserts. It is still uncertain whether Tauros is also available in South America. Mr. Mime is a psychic/fairy-type Pokemon exclusive to Europe.
It can be found anywhere in the region including London and other urban areas. The United Kingdom, despite having exited the European Union, is still part of Europe, with an available Mr. Mime every now and then in "Pokemon Go."
Kangaskhan is a normal-type Pokemon native to Australasia. According to "Pokemon Go" trainers, it can be found everywhere, particularly in parks and cities. It is not fully confirmed whether Kangaskhan is exclusive only to Australian "Pokemon Go" trainers or including those in Australasia and New Zealand.
Finally, Farfetch'd is a normal/flying-type Pokemon exclusive to Asia. There are reports that Farfetch'd frequents city centers and parks, although it can be found everywhere. Farfetch'd is particularly abundant in Japan and South Korea. It is still uncertain whether India also has a fair share of the Pokemon.
Over 100 Creatures in 'Pokemon Go' Gen 2?
Forbes wrote that in the meantime, Niantic is reportedly preparing for "Pokemon Go" Gen 2, including the arrival of Mewtwo and legendary birds. There are also rumors that "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 will feature over 100 new Pokemon, although there is still no confirmation whether some will be region-exclusive.
There are also talks that players may remotely capture Pokemon in other areas, despite not being physically present. This can open the opportunity to capture region-exclusive creatures in "Pokemon Go." Overall, the best strategy to capture region-specific creatures is to travel.
