Ben Affleck's 'Batman' Movie Gets 2018 Release

Ben Affleck's "Batman" movie is now set for a 2018 release. Greg Silverman confirmed this during an interview on his exit as President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production for Warner Bros.

Greg Silverman revealed the upcoming movie slate for Warner Bros. during his interview with Deadline. Apparently, before he left his executive position at the studios, he had already given a green light to the release of some of the DC superhero movies. This include Ben Affleck's "Batman" movie.

Silverman revealed that the "Batman" film comes out in 2018. However, he did not announce an exact release date.

The other movies that come out in the same year as Ben Affleck's "Batman" movie include other superhero shows. James Wan's "Aquaman," "Lego Ninjago" and a new "Scooby Doo" film also have a confirmed 2018 release. The sequel to "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and Steven Spielberg's "Ready Player One" are also due two years from now.

The confirmed 2018 release for the "Batman" movie came after Ben Affleck revealed some updates on his film. He told Variety that the script is on its finishing touches and will be ready as soon as filming starts. Affleck revealed that filming for the movie will likely begin in the spring.

"We're on the right track with that and everything is coming together. We're still finishing up a script. I'm very excited," he said.

Ben Affleck will don on the cape and mask again for his titular role in the film. The actor will also direct the said "Batman" movie.

Meanwhile, casting details for the spinoff film remain scarce. So far, only Joe Manganiello is confirmed as part of the movie. He plays the villain Deathstroke, who Will Smith portrayed in David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" film. There are also rumors that Armie Hammer (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) has been cast to play Two-Face.
