Everyone is wondering what Apple iPhone 8 might look like. Some reports say that Apple plans to debut the iPhone 8 next year. Reports do say that iPhone 8 might have new technology that could be the end of iPhone's legendary home button.
It came from Synaptics' announcement about its own under-glass fingerprint detection solution. It debut a new line of Natural ID FS9100 optical fingerprint sensors. Reports suggest that this could be the next feature of iPhone 8 as Synaptics was known to be the company which is responsible for iPod's legendary scroll wheel.
Furthermore, Synaptics is a company which builds physical user interfaces for many devices. It includes fingerprint scanners, trackpads and touchscreens.
Tomorrow Apple will unveil "innovative" fingerprint technology on the new iPhone. This piece of fun is 8 years old. https://t.co/ugpNQMoO

The new under-glass fingerprint has just been announced this week by the said company. The new FS9100 sensor can detect fingerprints through 1mm glass. This means that the future iPhones will be able to dispense with the need for a stand-alone fingerprint sensor; instead the sensor will be built right into the display, as confirmed by Mashable.
In fact Mac Rumors said in its report that, according to Synaptics the sensors have been specifically designed for placement under its cover glass. It includes a 2.5D glass which is "located in the front, bottom bezel of smartphones and tablets."
Moreover these sensors eliminate the need for cutting out of display of such device because they are under a glass. These are also waterproof and scratchproof.
This is an innovative way and a much advantage compared to the previous iPhones because the sensors responds very well to wet fingers. It is well-noted that wet finger performance is low in Apple's devices as it causes the latter to fail.
In addition, "these sensors enable OEMs to provide highly durable, button-free cover glass and more easily provide water resistant products while eliminating low yield glass processing." Hence, we can now picture out the new iPhone 8 as no buttons or circles but just glass.
