Nintendo Switch Latest News & Update: Nintendo Uses Old Nvidia Architecture to Cut Console Price?

There are too many mysteries that surround Nintendo Switch and foremost among them is the question about its processing power. Yes, gamers simply shrug due to appeal that was built up over the course of Nintendo Switch since reveal late this year. After all, its just few months away until gamers can finally give their verdict.

Good news is; there are sufficient information proliferation about Nvidia-Nintendo affair and we can now peek through Nintendo Switch a bit deeper. Sources revealed that Maxwell graphics-processing is to be employed for Nintendo Switch. The setback is that this particular architecture is the last generation of Nvidia product.

It makes sense because reports said that the current Nvidia Pascal architecture isn't compatible with Nintendo's Tegra chip. Another reason that allegedly amplified the problem is that Nintendo Switch doesn't have enough time to spare waiting for the next version of this architecture.

Come to think of it, gamers aren't really expecting Nintendo Switch to be as muscled as competitors. Some are predicting that Nintendo's flagship is in fact inferior to PlayStation 4 when it comes to processing power, Venture Beat reported. The best approach to this development though is to take it with a grain of salt. Remember that Maxwell or Pascal, all information emanates from rumors and leaks.

Of course, there will be gamers getting worried about this report. However, it can also be taken as positive development since Maxwell is confirmed to handle the likes of "Skyrim" and "Dark Souls 3." Even those games bounded to Nintendo Switch aren't needing that much power as Nvidia Maxwell anyway, The Zero Review said.

Now here is an interesting point about this Nintendo Switch report; the earlier rumor about $250 price tag for this console might be justified after all. Justified in a sense that Maxwell is very near the price-point and Nintendo Switch might not be interested in promises that are too good to be true. At any rate, gamers are expecting additional light about this information and it can only be answered when Nintendo Switch event kicks off on January 12th through 13th.
