Ronda Rousey To Fight For 145-Pound Title If She Wins In UFC 207

Ronda Rousey Gets Crack At New Featherweight Title

Barely a few days ago since the new 145-pound women's division was announced and former women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is being groomed as its top dog. First things first, she needs to win in UFC 207 against Amanda Nunes.

With another former champion Holly Holm fighting Germaine De Randamie for the newly-created featherweight title at UFC 208 in Brooklyn, UFC President Dana White suggested that Rousey should challenge the winner of that match.

In an interview with ESPN, White concurred that a rematch between Holm and Rousey could really happen. "If Holly wins and becomes champion, that would be the scenario. I guarantee people would want to see it."

Rousey vs Holm 2 would surely surpass the million pay-per-view buys specially if you play that footage of Holly kicking Ronda's head over and over again. Of course, Rousey would not want that to happen but the specter of being a two-division champion like Conor McGregor would take the sting out a little.

As for the top fighter in the division, Cris Cyborg, White dismissed the idea of disrespect by not giving her the first shot at the new featherweight title. "She said she could not make 145 pounds in eight weeks. We gave her a second and a third fight but rejected everything." said White. "With everything that is going on in my life, the last thing I'm thinking is, "Hey let's get together and disrespect Cyborg." White continued.

And as for Ronda Rousey? The clock is ticking on her MMA career. Cris Cyborg could indeed find herself getting bumped off at the 145-pound belt should Holly Holm emerge victorious against Germaine De Randamie, which is what most bookies expect. Still people are hoping to see the match everyone wants to happen-the long awaited superfight between Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg since the two have established themselves in the sports several years ago.
