DC Comics supervillains Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy will be teaming up in "Gotham City Sirens," the upcoming all-female spinoff to this year's "Suicide Squad." Margot Robbie, who made her big screen debut as Harley in "Suicide Squad," is reportedly reprising her role in "Gotham City Sirens" while Megan Fox is said to be in consideration for the role of Poison Ivy.
While a Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy team-up sound exciting enough, three supervillains seem inadequate for an ensemble film, considering the number of superheroes and supervillains in recent films like "Captain America: Civil War" and the aforementioned "Suicide Squad." As such, here are four other DC antiheroines who could appear in "Gotham City Sirens."
Manhunter
Kate Spencer was the eighth person to take on the mantle of Manhunter, but she may be the character who best fits the upcoming "Gotham City Sirens." A former district attorney who lost her faith in the justice system, Kate stole supervillain equipment from an evidence room and became a vigilante. The DC villainess is a morally ambiguous one and thus fits right in with Harley Quinn and company.
Talia al Ghul
Talia has prominent connections in the DC universe. She is the daughter of Ra's al Ghul (and the heir to his global criminal empire), Batman's lover, and the mother of Batman's son Damian Wayne. In the DC Comics, Talia became Batman's mortal enemy and was partially responsible for the death of their son. Both powerful and tragic, Talia would thus be an interesting addition to "Gotham City Sirens."
Livewire
Livewire has appeared in The CW's "Supergirl," where she was formerly Cat Grant's (Calista Flockhart) assistant. In the DC Comics, Livewire was a radio shock jock named Leslie Willis who was also a metahuman with the ability to manipulate electricity. This ability would make the character a great addition to "Gotham City Sirens." Both the DC Comics and the "Supergirl" versions of Livewire were villains driven by the need for revenge.
Silver Banshee
Silver Banshee appeared in the same "Supergirl" episode as Livewire, where the two teamed up against Kara (Melissa Benoist) and The Flash (Grant Gustin). In the DC Comics, Silver Banshee was an enemy of both Supergirl and Superman. Her appearance in "Gotham City Sirens" could thus pave the way for a cameo by either or both of these iconic superheroes.
"Gotham City Sirens" will be helmed and produced by "Suicide Squad" director David Ayer, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Robbie will also reportedly serve as an executive producer for the spinoff. Warner Bros. has yet to set the official release date for "Gotham City Sirens."
