"Game of Thrones" star Lena Headey is currently embroiled in a legal battle with ex-husband Peter Loughran. The former couple are fighting for custody over their only son, Wylie, and Loughran is asking for her to pay his attorney's fees.
'Game of Thrones' Star Allegedly Earning Over $1 Million Per Episode
JustJared revealed that Loughran is asking for the "Game of Thrones" star, who plays Cersei Lannister, to pay $40,000 of his attorney's fees, alleging that he cannot afford by himself. Headey's ex-husband stated that the actress earns over $1 million per episode on "Game of Thrones."
According to Loughran, Headey already complied with a previous court order to pay him $20,000 in attorney's fees. He added that the "Game of Thrones" actress can pay spousal support, since her gross income is over $1 million, and she allegedly also has massive savings exceeding $1 million.
E!Online stated that Loughran currently receives $9,000 in child support and resides in a rented apartment at a rate of $3,300 a month. He added that he is a former hairstylist who is out of work at present and still looking for a job. Loughran styled people's hair before he married the "Game of Thrones" star.
He shared that Lena urged him to quit his job and travel with her to work on "Game of Thrones." He said that he took care of their six-year-old son while she focused on her career.
More 'Game of Thrones' Episodes
Aside from "Game of Thrones," Loughran stated that Lena also earns from other film projects, while he has very little cash and does not receive support. He said that he needs Lena to pay for the attorney's fees so that they can both have equal footing in the present custody battle. Headey and HBO have not commented on the pending case.
In November 2016, co-stars Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) reportedly banded together to conclude a renegotiation of their "Game of Thrones" salaries. As a result, each actor will be paid $1.1 million for every "Game of Thrones" Season 7 episode.
The upcoming season will have seven episodes, while Season 8, which is said to be the last, will comprise of six episodes. In "Game of Thrones" Season 6, Headey appeared in eight episodes.
