Ubisoft Massive’s upcoming post-apocalyptic open world RPG The Division may be a long way away from release but that hasn’t stopped the title from becoming one of the most sought after games of the near future. However, while we all know quite a bit about the game’s background and what it’s all about, a probable release date for the same still hangs in the balance. And while a recent report claims that the game will not arrive before 2015, the developer, itself, has kept shut on the matter.
Recently, Swedish site Game Reactor revealed that the game was most likely to experience a 2015 release after the site talked to an insider close to the game, who also revealed that the developing team has quite a distance to go before officially finishing the game.
“Ubisoft've on several occasions announced that The Division will be ready to be released in the fall, as our anonymous source now denies,” the Game Reactor report states.
The report also states that that the “studio is not particularly happy with the fact that Ubisoft issued a premiere date of The Division” so early since the game is not even close to the finish line. Alongside, it was also revealed that the team, as of now, has only finished with the game’s graphics technology, and didn’t get enough time “to start building much of the adventure or the game world itself.”
“The game engine works well, it is not clear but works well," the source explained. "Actual game development has barely begun, however.”
The source added: "The fact that Ubisoft issued a 2014 release date seems laughable if I'll be completely honest, we will never have time to release The Division this year. This is a big project, we have very far to go..."
While nothing has been confirmed officially, as of now, as far as the game is concerned, it might come as a big shock to most fans if the game is indeed pushed to a 2015 date. And we have only just kicked off with 2014. Only time will tell.
Tom Clancy’s The Division, if we are lucky enough, will arrive per its Q4 2014 release schedule for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
