After the successful revival of the well-loved "Jurassic" franchise, many are looking forward to the next installment of the movie series. There is a lot of hype regarding "Jurassic World 2," which could present a more political take on the narrative.
J.A. Bayona, director of the upcoming "Jurassic World 2," recently shared an insight about what the new film will tackle. The first installment of "Jurassic World" concluded with an open-ended outcome, hinting that there is more to be told about the world presented. With that, Bayona explained that there will definitely be some political elements explored in the "Jurassic World 2," as reported by List UK.
Though still untitled, the upcoming "Jurassic World 2" is expected to continue the discussion on animal exploitation and commercialization, as explained by Bayona during an interview with Super Hero Hype. With Chris Pratt returning as the lead of the movie, it is believed that the film, besides showcasing adventure, will present a thought-provoking message.
Aside from that, Bayona stated that "Jurassic World 2" will be different compared to past films of the franchise. In addition, he expressed his excitement in working with darker themes for the new movie. Bayona stated that this will be an interesting challenge, even for him.
"You need to adapt, you need to know where you are. I think you're going to find some stuff that will remind you of my movies. At the same time I'm very aware that this is Steven's baby and I'm going to take care of his baby as much as possible, knowing where I am all the time," he explained further. With that, fans can hold high expectations for "Jurassic World 2."
Though there has yet to be any confirmation on what the storyline for the "Jurassic World 2" will be, it was revealed that the script was already written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. However, there is still a long wait as the upcoming film will be released in theaters by Jun. 22, 2018.
