Sources close to Lionel Messi and his family are saying the Argentinian star is set to marry his partner Antonella Roccuzzo next year, depending on Barcelona's schedule.
The couple met when they were children, with Lionel Messi reportedly crushing on his childhood friend at the tender age of nine. They met through Antonella Roccuzzo's cousin, Lucas Scaglia and another member of Newell's Old Boys. Antonella hanged out with her cousin and Messi on their trips to the Parana river.
When Messi left for Barcelona, he was briefly separated from his childhood crush. During this period, Antonella dated someone else from Rosario in a relationship that lasted three years. But the childhood friends reunited after the tragic death of one of Antonella's friends, and Messi flew back to Argentina to console her. They rekindled their relationship from there on, but the two chose to keep it private. Antonella's friends reported that she only told them about their relationship in 2007. The relationship was confirmed to the public in 2010 when Antonella moved to Barcelona and lived with Messi.
