Two senior writers who have been with the television show since 2014, Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese, will take Beau Willimon's place as show runners of "House of Cards" Season 5. Now, fans are wondering if the two writers can fill in the big shoes that Willimon has left leading to speculations that "House of Cards" Season 5 will not happen in the near future.

Early this year, Netflix has already announced that there will be "House of Cards" Season 5. The announcement happened even when the fourth season was still on airing on television. However, there was no definite date when the fifth instalment will finally happen.
Fans speculate that "House of Cards" Season 5 will be released early part of 2017. Previous series have always been aired on a February except for season four which was released on March.
Netflix has not yet announced the cast for "House of Cards" Season 5 but Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright are the major stars; hence, they are expected to reprise their roles as Frank and Claire Underwood. Other actors that are expected to appear are Michael Kelly, Mahershala Ali, Jayne Atkinson and Elizabeth Marvel.
