Titanfall Sniping Support: ‘Quick scoping and no scoping are ineffective’: Respawn

Titanfall will support sniping although 'Quick scoping and no scoping are ineffective,' says Respawn

While Respawn Entertainment is gearing up for its upcoming mech shooter Titanfall with huge towering metallic figures that will compete against each other on release, it seems like the game will still feature some traditional FPS content like sniping, although it will be far different from what we are generally used to when we discuss sniping, according to the company.

In a recent thread for the same on Respawn’s forums, a Titanfall developer by the user handle Scriptacus discussed about the possibilities of featuring in-game sniping when questioned by a number of fans.

On asked about any information related to sniping in the game by a user who confirmed that he was looking for some concrete evidence to it, Scriptacus wrote: “Sniping is in the game, but due to how the game plays it's a pretty different animal than you'll find in your run of the mill modern military shooter. Quick scoping and no scoping are ineffective.”

However, a host of fans also think that introducing sniping in the game is not that big a deal, including one who felt “sniper rifles ruined BF4 and CoD.”

To this another user Leg1t replied: “Sniper rifles have never, EVER ruined a game. People who like to camp and do absolutely nothing to help their team (specially while playing objective based games) do ruin the games.”

He then directed fans to a BF3 gameplay of his (see below) where he used a sniper rifle. “Guys in 2nd and 3rd place were using assault kits and went 52-21 and 22-8. Just a small example, i can provide more if needed to rest this case. The saying that "sniper = camping" is nothing but BS that you see in public servers from people who are as clueless as it gets.”

“In BF, i see people camping on the most ridiculous spots we can think of, using engineer and support also. I hope Respawn will give us a sniper rifle / bolt action weapon. There has to be a single shot weapon for those who want a bigger challenge (for titans we know this will be true, but there has to be something like this for pilots as well), not just a spray and pray fest,” he added.

Titanfall is currently scheduled for a March 11 release in North America and March 14 release in UK for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
