Fans of the musical drama TV series can't wait until Thursday to get their first look at "Nashville" Season 5 since it moved from ABC to CMT, in partnership with Hulu. With the show now helmed by a new team of showrunners, two of Americas well-known writers, Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz, fans are expecting surprising new episodes of "Nashville" Season 5.
Created by Callie Khouri, "Nashville" Season 5 is going to premiere first on CMT. The show features an ensemble cast with Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere in the leading roles as two country music superstars, Rayna Jaymes and Juliette Barnes, respectively.
The sneak peek of "Nashville" Season 5 revealed that the series will pick up where things left off at the end of season four, most notably with Juliette on her private plane as alarms sound off in the background. And based on the hour-long sneak peek premiere, which airs today (December 15), the reinvention shows signs of promise.
The official description of "Nashville" Season 5 is said to point to some interesting plot developments. The season will begin with Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) facing a new normal with Maddie now back home and Highway 65 struggling financially. The shocking news about Juliette will create a wave of emotions throughout Nashville and sets Rayna off on a journey of discovery."
When asked about the movie, "Nashville" Season 5 writer Herskovitz shared that the cast didn't want to ruin what was great about the show, but they had to do a bit of storytelling. "The tradeoff is less adrenaline, more emotion. We have longer scenes, deeper scenes, more opportunity for true relationships between these people to fulfill themselves, to play themselves out. And I think it's much more emotionally satisfying this way." Herkovitz said.
