Konami and Hideo Kojima’s upcoming stealth action title Metal Gear Solid 5 is back in news and this time with more details about the game’s external features like the corresponding frame rates and changing controls.
Director Hideo Kojima recently went live on Twitter to update fans on how the game’s coming, and it actually exceeds expectations to know that while the company is working hard on the game during the holiday season, it’s also keeping its fans up to date on the latest that happening with the new MGS.
As expected, Kojima took to Twitter recently to discuss more on the game and stated how difficult it is to work on multiple platforms for the game at the same time, which is a bit of an annoyance.
He described how difficult it is to switch between four different controllers – Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 – every day while checking or fine-tuning the game.
“As switching currentgen(PS3/360)⇄nextgen(PS4/ONE) for game check, it's annoying to adjust bw 4 controls everyday,” he wrote.
Apart from that, Kojima also discussed how the varying frame rates for the game – while the Xbox 360 and PS3 are running at 30 FPS, the Xbox One and PS4 versions are doing the same at 60 FPS – has affected the in-game sense of realism. However, irrespective of all the concerning problems, Kojima has assured fans Snake will feature on all the platforms he is meant to feature.
“Different frame rate changes the feel of realism,” he wrote. “But every Snake in every platform keeps fighting all day long.lol”
Konami’s upcoming action stealth title Metal Gear Solid 5, already known to us, has been divided into a couple of parts with the first part – Ground Zeroes – aiming to serve as a prequel to the original The Phantom Pain, which will carry over the same tagline of Tactical Espionage Operations as others in the franchise.
Additionally, Kojima, in a separate tweet, also discussed how the different versions of the game will have different impacts on players, and that there are strong reasons for anyone opting for the game on the current gen consoles.
"I've been asked which ver u should buy. The feel of play & impression's similar as it's been made multiplatform/multigen this time. Sense of realism & graphics looks much better in next gen. So I'd say current-gen for those who can't buy next gen just yet & upgrade later...FYI, the world ranking of mission result/trial grade in GZ differs to each platform,” Kojima wrote.
“The feel of play/difficulty levels are the same as we consider slight difference parts found in each hardware, controls or frame rate."
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, which is the standalone prequel to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, will launch for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on March 18.
