The NBA is starting to heat up with just two months into the season. It has been full of injuries but here are the latest NBA news and updates including the return of Jeremy Lin, Victor Oladipo's injury, Ben Simmons making progress and more.
Jeremy Lin scores 10 points in return
After missing six weeks due to a hamstring injury, Jeremy Lin returned to score 10 points in 20 minutes. However, the Brooklyn Nets came up short against the Houston Rockets as they lost the game 122-118. Despite the loss, things are looking up for the Nets and Lin, who told the New York Daily News that he feels good but needs time to get his rhythm back.
"I felt a lot better than I thought I would with my wind, but I struggled with the rhythm. The shots, the feel and getting back out there - you practice all these shots, but I got in there and it felt like I was shooting a football," Lin said.
Victor Oladipo out with wrist injury
The Oklahoma City received some good news about the injury to Victor Oladipo. According to Brett Dawson of The Oklahoman, Oladipo will not undergo surgery for his sprained wrist but he could miss some time. He suffered the injury on Sunday and he missed the game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday.
Ben Simmons takes 'significant step' in recovery
The Philadelphia 76ers are without 2016 first-overall pick Ben Simmons due to a foot fracture. He was expected to be out for the entire season but he might return earlier than expected. Jessica Camerato of CSN Philly reported that Simmons took a "significant step" in his recovery.
Simmons is already shooting free throws on Tuesday after putting on a pair of sneakers for the first time since surgery. He suffered a Jones fracture in his right foot on the final day of training camp and the Sixers are really excited about his return.
Raptors have the best offense in the NBA
According to James Herbert of CBS Sports, the Toronto Raptors have the best offense in the NBA this season. The only team from Canada is averaging 114.9 points per 100 possessions and they are ahead of teams such as the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Houston Rockets.
