PopCap Games has announced that they're going to be holding Feastivus in Plants Vs. Zombies 2 starting tomorrow. The celebration will take five days, with each day letting you play a brand-new festive holiday party level. Beat each level and you can win prizes.
Feastivus is a zombie holiday and is absolutely not to be confused with Festivus, which is the holiday popularized with a 1997 episode of "Seinfeld" where George Costanza revealed his family's bizarre holiday tradition. It involves an unadorned Festivus pole, an Airing of Greivances, a Festivus dinner and, of course, the Feats of Strength. It's ridiculous and silly and a lot of atheists like it because it don't have any even sillier traditions like fat elves breaking into your homes or oil lamps that won't go out. I'm not sure that zombies would find the humor in that.
But Feastivus is all about the undead! You can get an idea of what kinds of surprises there are to be found in the trailer below. A lot of people (myself included) had issues with the idea of a free-to-play Plants Vs. Zombies game, especially since the first is so incredible, but PopCap really did FTP right. There's an absolute ton of content included in Plants Vs. Zombies 2 that you'll never have to pay a dime for, and everything really . You can buy extra plants and items if you like but they're absolutely optional. They've also been doing a lot of fun things with varied updates like this one which is great to see- the idea of them contining to update and include new content for the game in the years to come is an exciting one.
In any case, get your brains polished and ready for the celebration tomorrow, and don't forget to download the game on the App Store or Google Play if you somehow haven't already. It's free! Happy Feastivus!
