"The Voice" Season 11 capped off its finale with a two-night special that featured amazing performances from the finalists, as well as special guests. With Sundance Head besting fan-favorite Billy Gilman as the NBC reality singing competition's champion, here are five of the talented singer's best performances.
Head has been one of the strong contenders in "The Voice" Season 11. With his soulful voice and unique renditions of hit tracks, the Texas singer impressed judges, audiences and fans with his talent.
Having caught the attention of "The Voice" judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine during the Blind Auditions, Head's audition piece "I've Been Loving You Too Long" is considered one of the singer's best performances on the NBC show, according to Taste of Country.
The Maroon 5 frontman may have pushed the judge's button first, followed by Shelton, however, Head chose the country singer. Together, the two artists proved to be a winning tandem that pushed Head to claim the top prize in "The Voice" Season 11.
Moreover, Head's rendition of Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus' hit tracks "No One" and "The Climb," respectively, also displayed his vocal prowess. Also considered as the new "The Voice" champion's top performances, the soul country singer gave his own twist to the said songs.
Apart from the three performances, Head's unique take on an Etta James' song "At Last" showcased his vocal range. Performed during "The Voice" Season 11 finals, Head's version even featured doo-wop singers, as indicated the same report.
However, the performance that wowed many fans was Head's rendition of "Me and Jesus" that turned "The Voice" stage during the NBC show's Top 10 week into a mini-chapel. With the former "American Idol" contestant's soulful and powerful performance, the said track even topped the iTunes Christian songs chart.
Meanwhile, "The Voice" Season 11 finale featured a suspenseful ending as Head, Gilman, as well as finalists Josh Gallagher and We McDonald awaited the vote results. Gallagher landed at fourth place while McDonald's third placement surprised many fans, according to Billboard. Team Blake's Head was then declared the champion with Gilman nabbing the second spot.
