‘Growing Pains’ Star Alan Thicke Dies Of Heart Attack While Playing Hockey With Son

'Growing Pains' star Alan Thicke dies of heart attack. According to sources, this happened while he was playing hockey with one of his sons. The unexpected death of Thicke left the entertainment business distraught and surprised.

Alan Thicke, 69, was transported to a Los Angeles hospital after suffering from an attack. He was pronounced dead on Tuesday afternoon. The last thing he did was to play hockey with his son. No clear reasons as to what caused the attack, but considering his age it could be that his body cannot take such physical strain anymore.

Also, another consideration could be his medical history, though further details may be stated by his publicist or family anytime soon.

Alan Thicke played as the head of the Seaver family for the ABC sitcom 'Growing Pains'. He also recently appeared on the Netflix series 'Fuller House'.

The sitcom 'Growing Pains' had a runtime for about seven seasons, starting from September 1985 to April 1992. He portrayed the character Jason Seaver who works as a psychiatrist from home. Joana Kerns played as his wife, while other stars Kirk Cameron, Jeremy Miller, Tracey Gold, and Ashley Johnson played as their kids.

Back in season 7, Leonardo DiCaprio even joined the cast as a homeless teen that moves in with the family, adding flavor and humor to the long-running sitcom. The series reached the Top 5 spot in ratings.

Back in 2010, Alan Thicke was interviewed regarding his experience in working for 'Growing Pains'. He said, "Loved it. Proud of it. Proud of what it stood for."

"I share the corny family values espoused on that show. Happy for the role, both, as I said, what it stood for and what it did for me and my life and my family and my career. So if that's what goes on my tombstone, I'm perfectly comfortable with it," he added.
