LG G6 Specs, Release Date, News & Update: Wireless Charging, Waterproof Case, Glass Design & More

LG G6 will be competing with Samsung Galaxy S8 in terms of features and functionalities next year. LG is now equipping its 2017 flagship phone with the latest technology for mobile devices to capture the hearts of buyers.

Recent reports reveal that the smartphone maker will use wireless charging technology, waterproof case and glass design for LG G6. There will be major changes in the design of the upcoming phone.

LG G6 Waterproof Case

LG G6 will have a combination of glass and metal casing. The front will have an all-glass design while the back covering will be a highly reflective material. The new case design will give the 2017 device a robust look without compromising elegance.

The changes in the design is actually aimed to make the upcoming device waterproof. Some of the ports will be removed to reduce the possible entry way of water and dust.

Apple has already removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack in the latest iPhone model and Samsung is reportedly planning to do the same for its 2017 flagship phone. LG will not be following the move and intends to keep the port for the headphone jack in LG G6, as per GSM Arena.

Wireless charging technology

A wireless charging technology will reportedly be used in LG G6. Since the company is ditching most of the ports, wireless charging will most likely be present.

The battery of the upcoming device will no longer be removable unlike its predecessor, as per Android Authority. LG G6 has to sacrifice its removable battery to give way to the new waterproof design.

LG G6 will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipset. A fingerprint sensor might be included in the device. In terms of release date, the device is expected to be officially unveiled in February or March 2017 at the Mobile World Congress.
