Huawei reports suggest that the company will soon start updating a few of its most recently released smartphones to the latest Android Nougat 7.0. The updates are anticipated to hit in the first quarter of 2017 and expected to feature the Chinese manufacturer's custom EMUI 5.0 interface.
Huawei Mate 9, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Lite, Nova Plus, and Nova are just some of the devices that will be updated to Android Nougat 7.0 soon. However, a number of publications pointed out that the Huawei Mate S is not included among the devices scheduled to get the Android Nougat 7.0, Neurogadget reported.
Moreover, there is also no reason given as to why the device may not update to Android Nougat 7.0. The device was launched last November 2015 running the Android Lollipop and was already scheduled to update to Marshmallow at some point. Majority of the devices scheduled to update to Android Nougat 7.0 released running the Marshmallow operating system.
At present, Huawei is promoting the Mate 9 model among its first to run the Android Nougat 7.0 and EMUI 5.0. The new model is widely available in overseas markets and is set to launch in the U.S in January next year. Honor 8 is also currently receiving the Android Nougat 7.0 in beta as announced by the manufacturer.
