Let's be honest for a moment here. We're all filthy addicts of the latest and currently most popular social game, Candy Crush Saga. We chase that dragon on Facebook, smartphones, in the car, on the toilet, there's just no stopping it. Now, trying to put the game down is about to get even harder.
Crush developer King announced that the game is expanding, and even more levels are available for you to conquer in a new game mode, Dreamworld.
The style of play remains the same, but the look is brand new. As a press release detailed, "this new game mode will transport players to a parallel world of dream-inspired levels, introducing a magical twist to the traditional Candy Crush Saga game."
No doubt you've made it past Level 50 by now, right? If so, the Dreamworld mode is now available for you to try. Go back to some of the levels you've beaten, and give 'em a spin Dreamworld style. Here's how it works: "In 'Dreamworld' a magical new character, Odus the Owl, introduces an additional layer of gameplay. It's all about equilibrium - keep Odus the Owl perched on his half-moon by crushing the correct coloured candies which consequently keeps him steady and stable."
The new mode comes complete with new rewards, like Moon Struck, which sees certain colored candies removed from the board, making it easier to complete.
The Dreamworld addition will surely help Candy Crush from getting stale (no pun intended). The game's a runaway hit, having been downloaded over half a billion times and boasts the most players on Facebook out of any and all other apps. According to VG247, "it's now estimated that one in 23 users have become a fan of Candy Crush Saga on Facebook," and has been played over 150 billion times.
"We're thrilled to offer new and existing Candy Crush Saga players an exciting new way of playing the game" says Tommy Palm, Games Guru at King. "We hope that the new 'Dreamworld' mode will prove a fun twist for newcomers to the game and a tantalizing challenge for our loyal fanbase. As with all our games, we endeavour to offer our valued players a regular flow of exciting new content - we hope that they will love the new map, as much as we've enjoyed developing it."
With 65 'Dreamworld' levels available at launch, player progression on mobile devices will seamlessly synchronize with Facebook so they can unlock new levels and access leaderboards wherever and whenever they like, without losing their progress in the game.
The 'Dreamworld' levels are available now on Facebook, as well as on Android, and iOS devices.
