It's no wonder why those who were able to watch "Doctor Strange" in November are craving more of Benedict Cumberbatch in "Doctor Strange 2." The first installment set the bars high as it defied the expectations of many.
With Dormammu's (Mads Mikkelsen) plans of destroying Earth taken down, who will be the next villain that Benedict Cumberbatch is going to face in "Doctor Strange 2?" This left fans speculating. Two names are now slowly surfacing and overwhelming the social media. The names that could be the new supervillains in "Doctor Strange 2" are Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) & Nightmare.
Baron Mordo
One of the speculated villain to the supreme sorcerer in "Doctor Strange 2" is Baron Mordo. Mordo is but another sorcerer, who started out as an ally. He lost his way after he found out that The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) has been drawing her power from The Dark Dimension. It can be recalled during the end-credit scene that he pays a visit to Jonathan Pangborn (Benjamin Bratt), the man who sent Stephen Strange to Kamar-Taj, to take his powers. Introduced in the comic books as a villain, Mordo is hell-bent on killing both Strange and The Ancient One. However, movie director, Scott Derrickson, explained that introducing Mordo as an ally before a villain was needed so that audience can grasp the impact of his transformation.
Nightmare
Next in line of the rumored new villains to appear in "Doctor Strange 2" is Nightmare. Derrickson said that he would have wanted to push the Nightmare's character into the first installment. But on second thought, they just did not because the concept was a little too complex to introduce. First introduced into comics in 1963, Nightmare is the ruler of the Dream Dimension, a place where humans visit when they sleep. He was described as having green hair and a black horse named Dreamstalker.
As of this writing,it remains to be seen if Scott Derrickson will return for another installment of "Doctor Strange." "Doctor Strange 2" hasn't even been officially announced yet.
