The recent episode of the third season of "Star Wars Rebels" titled "Visons and Voices" offered a lot of insights with what Darth Maul really wants. The previous episode has possibly indicated that it may open up a new story arc for the animated series.
The latest episode from the third season of "Star Wars Rebels" revealed the next step in Darth Maul's mysterious scheme and it seems that he is after one of the most iconic characters in the universe of "Star Wars," Obi-Wan Kenobi. He also saw a vision of twin suns which hinted the present location of the Jedi. According to reports, fans may already be familiar where Obi-Wan is situated and it is in Tatooine.
Meanwhile, "Visions and Voices" concluded with Ezra, Sabine, and Kanan left on the planet of Dathomir. With this, Ezra has completely lost his trust with Darth Maul and the Sith also lowered his chances in recruiting his promising apprentice. However, Ezra also has to deal with Kanan and Sabine since they are also being controlled by the Nightsisters which can only be found out in the next episode of "Star Wars Rebels."
There are suggestions that Darth Maul may actually encounter the Obi-Wan Kenobi in the future episode. Since the next plot arc might focus on the Jedi, it is also possible that the Ghost crew will meet the Jedi as well. The effect of their meeting with Obi-Wan Kenobi is still unknown in "Star Wars Rebels," but it is speculated that Obi-Wan may also teach Ezra and Kanan in using the force.
Meanwhile, it was also reported previously that there are some characters from "Star Wars Rebels" that may be referenced in the upcoming film "Rogue One." The chances of Hera Syndulla and the droid Chopper appearing in the film is high. Another character may also make a cameo for the upcoming movie is Agent Kallus. This will only be confirmed once "Rogue One" has hit cinemas.
As of now, the third season of "Star Wars Rebels" is taking a break and will resume once again on Jan. 2017. The animated series airs new episodes ever Saturday at 8:30 PM ET/PT on Disney XD.
