Bandai Namco's "Soulcalibur" franchise will celebrate 20 years of success this month and fans took it as a hint that the developer is cooking up something big. Fans speculate that it has something to do with the next installment in the franchise "Soulcalibur 6."
Fans have long been waiting for "Soulcalibur 6" since the last game in the series came out in 2012. It's been four years now and players of the fighting game believe that it's high time for Namco to bring a follow-up. While there's no official word yet, fans have long made their own theories as to what "Soulcalibur VI" would be like and which of the characters, old and new, will be part of the sequel.
Among the characters predicted to return for "Soulcalibur 6" include Jin, Heihachi and Spawn. Ling Xiaoyu and KOS-MOS are also part of the returning characters list but it is said that they will return to the follow-up as a real character (both were treated as "pseudo-guest" characters). Also predicted to make a comeback to "Soulcalibur VI" are Starkiller, Lloyd Irving and Ezio Auditore.
As for the new roster, rumors are rife that the four Ninja Turtles, Sora, Kairi, Thundercats 2011's Lion-O, Korra and Naruto will join "Soulcalibur 6" roster. There are also speculations as to the DLC characters that will arrive to "Soulcalibur 5's" rumored sequel. They include a reborn Sophitia, Taki, Olcadan, Rock, Setsuka and Yung Seong. Guest characters that are said to come via DLC are Goro, Amon from Legend of Korra, Shredder, Asuka Kazama, Young Xehanort and Shredder.
Of course, these characters are only speculations made by DisneyBrony2012 and it remains to be seen if Bandai Namco is really planning to announce "Soulcalibur 6." The developer only released a trailer showcasing clips from all game installments in the series. The franchise's 20th anniversary will be on Dec. 20 and fans can wait for an official reveal, if there is any. Rumors are now rife that "Soulcalibur VI" is highly possible and its development could start after "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution."
