The Indiana Pacers All Star forward Paul George has been involved in numerous trade talks these past few weeks. A lot of other NBA teams are interested to acquire the services of Paul George. Teams like the Detroit Pistons, the Chicago Bulls, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Sacramento Kings, the Boston Celtics and the Oklahoma City Thunder. With the current state of the Indiana Pacers this season, there are speculations that Paul George may want out.
The Paul George to the Detroit Pistons trade talks was first a few days ago. This latest rumor says that there might be possibility that the trade will push through. According to recent reports, Paul George and Monta Ellis will be dealt by the Indiana Pacers to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for three players and three first round picks.
Under the proposed trade, the Detroit Pistons would be getting Paul Georgeand Monta Ellis from the Indiana Pacers. On the other hand, the Indiana Pacers will be getting small forward Tobias Harris, shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and small forward Stanley Johnson and three first round picks. That's quite a haul for a superstar player and a fading former star player. But this trade could possibly work for both teams.
For the Indiana Pacers, this could be a great chance for them to rebuild their roster. The Indiana Pacers are currently in 10th place in the Eastern conference with a 12-12 record. Just barely hanging on a .500 record. Experts project that the Indiana Pacers would not make the playoffs this year. Paul George has been the only bright spot for the team. The three time All Star has been averaging 21.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2 steals per game on 35.2 minutes of playing time. For the past several seasons, the Indiana Pacers have just a middle of the pack team and never really a contender. Now is about the right time to start thinking about rebuilding.
The Detroit Pistons, on the other hand, would be getting a superstar in Paul George. With Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond on the team, the arrival of Paul George would definitely make the Detroit Pistons a contender that could compete with other elite teams like the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and the Cleveland Cavaliers
