Good news for all you inter-planetary nerds out there. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, LucasArts and LEGO have jointly announced that LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga has now been released on the Apple App Store for iOS platforms.
The new LEGO Star Wars game, that will be supported on several iOS-based devices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, will offer the entire Star Wars film saga, starting from Episode 1: The Phantom Menace and all the way to Episode 6: Return of the Jedi, while representing the entire thing in a LEGO point of view.
“We are very proud and excited to make our acclaimed LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga available to iOS players,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. “With hundreds of character customisation options, a plethora of puzzles to solve, and vast worlds to explore, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for iOS will have mobile gamers enjoying endless hours of gameplay.”
However, if you are excited about how the company has bundled the entire movie series in one little neat pack for players to enjoy, you are in for a massive reality check since only Episode 1 is available for free with this download and players will require purchasing Episodes II – VI and other related content via in-app purchases.
The LEGO-style mobile version of the game will feature as many as 36 story mode levels alongside respective bonus content. The official iTunes page states: “From the Trade Federation’s ‘negotiations’ with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace to the space battle above Endor in Return of the Jedi, play the most memorable and exhilarating scenes from your favorite episodes.”
Apart from that, fans will also stand a chance to unlock special bonus content featuring Bounty Hunter missions, a special Challenge Mode, Arcade Levels, and more, with both the dark and the light side characters boasting their own unique Force abilities.
Next, there are over 120 in-game characters to choose from with players offered the options of playing as their favorite Jedi Knight or Sith Lord, including the likes of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Boba Fett.
And as expected from a LEGO game, players can “Smash objects into LEGO bricks and switch characters on the fly as you play through different story levels,” with the option to create “your own Star Wars character mash-ups like Han Windu and Lando Amidala.”
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, currently available for iOS-based devices in Apple’s iTunes store, although made free, will cost you $14.99 if you opt for the entire package, while individual elements will be available for between $0.99 and $4.99.
