The latest trailer for the upcoming film, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" has been released recently which made a lot of fans excited. However, even though the movie has not hit theaters yet, the release date for the sequel has already been set. There are already speculations regarding the main antagonist of "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2."
The follow-up to "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is expected to arrive in 2019 and its release will be set after the events of "Avengers: Infinity War." Based on the reports of Nerdist, there is a possibility that "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2" will be the one to conclude Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or it might even be the film that will begin Phase Four. It has already been mentioned by Tom Holland before that he will play the web-slinging hero in six films and three of those will feature his own "Spider-Man" movies.
However, one of the biggest questions that fans are curious about is the main antagonist of "Spider-Man: Homecoming 2." Peter Parker has already encountered a lot of villains that threatened his life meaning there is a lot to choose from. One of the great villains that need to be reintroduced to audiences is Venom, and he is a great candidate to be the bad guy in the upcoming film since he had always been the arch-nemesis of Spider-Man. Since Venom has already made its debut in the 2007 film, "Spider-Man 3," Carnage may also be a good candidate since he also carries the alien symbiote.
There are also speculations that the Sinister Six may finally make their debut in the MCU, and it would be fitting since Vulture will be introduced in "Spider-Man Homecoming." It would also be a great challenge for the web crawler to face a group of bad guys in "Spider-Man Homecoming 2."
It was reported that the release date of "Bad Boys 4" have been replaced by "Spider-Man Homecoming 2" which is on July 5, 2019. "Bad Boys 4" will hit theaters earlier and its launch date is moved to May 24, 2019.
