'Overwatch' season 3 started last December 1 bringing up the latest updates. Here's what's next in store for the new competitive play and game's skill rating changes.
Overwatch official website has revealed the new competitive play for "Overwatch" season 3. These updates are meant for avid players of the game to know that the Competitive Play for 'Overwatch' is still there. Unlike other players have undoubtedly noticed, Competitive Play was not completely disabled when season 2 ended.However, to be factual, the Competitive Play in "Overwatch" was then replaced by the name Off-Season mode in season 3. This "Overwatch" season 3 will allow the player to continue the Competitive Play without affecting the skill rating.
On top of this, the principal designer of "Overwatch" Scott Mercer has revealed some skill rating changes before the season 2 ends. According to Game Rant, Mercer revealed some major changes on how the new season of "Overwatch" is about to handle everyone's skill rating.Furthermore, the changes will let Blizzard use everyone's skill rating from the previous season as his Starting Point. The "Overwatch" team as stated by the main designer will keep things fair as their primary goal for the season 3.There will also be changes such as new maps or elusive Sombra at the "Overwatch" season 3. Also, the new PTR patch is said to be developed using a more measured approach making "Overwatch" game for players even more exciting to play.
Most notable in the game is that "Overwatch" always wanted to provide the fairest matches possible. "Overwatch" developers and designers believe that having the fair match increase the player's chances for fun in the game. Because of this, the Skills Rating or SR of players had not been restarted in the season 3 but instead used for the SR from the as starting point.Aside from these, there are also other areas which "Overwatch" had been improved in season 3 for the sake of the players.
