Kurt Angle has been looking for ways to get back to the WWE but he has not been signed to deal just yet. However, the WWE recently reached out to him on social media and greeted him on his birthday. Could this be a sign that Angle is returning to WWE very soon?
The 48-year-old wrestling legend started his professional wrestling career in the WWE. He went on to win the WWE world title six times before getting released from his deal in 2006. He cited injuries as the reason why he left the company before signing with TNA Wrestling several months later.
Angle has spent most of his career in TNA but he will always be known as a WWE superstar. He has said in many interviews that he would want to have one final run in the WWE. However, Vince McMahon is worried about his health and history of painkillers and alcohol.
In an interview on The Ric Flair Show back in August, Kurt Angle revealed that he already talked with Triple H about burying the hatchet. He added that he could be back working with the WWE in 2017 or 2018 but he insisted his return.
"If I went back to WWE, most likely it would be next year or the year after. I did talk to Triple H a few months ago, a very loose conversation. They have interest. I have interest. They don't know what to do with me yet," Angle said.
Since giving that interview, Angle has been linked with many WWE return rumors. The most plausible plan for him is to become a surprise entrant at the 2017 Royal Rumble. He could also be the pre-order exclusive character for WWE 2K18 next year, per The Inquisitr.
Nevertheless, the WWE seems to be getting along with Angle. The official Instagram of the WWE wished him a Happy Birthday back on December 9. What do you think? Is Angle going to be back in the WWE next year?
