The cast of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” shared an interesting behind-the-scenes anecdote while shooting the film. It involves Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk who play Captain Cassian Andor and the droid K-2SO, respectively.
K-2SO is a giant supposed to stand 7-foot-1. However, he is actually a computer graphic, but Alan Tudyk was required to be in all the scenes where K-2SO is present in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” so other performers, especially Diego Luna, would have a stand-in to act against, Mashable reports.
Stilts & Tight Costume For Alan Tudyk
However, the real height of Alan Tudyk is six feet, so to appear bigger, he was required to wear stilts and a tight costume for computer-generated image-mapping purposes. It ended up with Diego Lucas always staring at the groin area of Alan Tudyk which the actor playing Captain Cassian Andor admitted in a press conference about “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” that it was intimidating.
Alan Tudyk confirmed that his private part was always at the eye level of Diego Lucas. But it was harder when he needed to answer the call of nature because removing the stilts used for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” was difficult, so he just went to the toilet and relieved himself although the situation presented two more awkward situations.
Aiming For The Urinal
First, it was difficult to aim on the urinal. Second, because Alan Tudyk was towering, he could see all the guys above the separators, and no one wanted to use the urinal next to where he was, the actor narrated at the press conference last week for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which would premiere on Dec. 16, is the first side story from Disney which would be a test if a non-saga movie would earn the producer money as well. It is part of Walt Disney’s strategy to release annually a “Star Wars” movie through 2020, with one standalone film alternating with episodes from a trilogy, Bloomberg reported.
