Kyrie Irving is one of Nike’s new faces. NBA Championship winner and Olympic gold medalist, it was just a matter of time before he had series of sports shoes dedicated to him. The first line of Kyrie products did not really hit the market as strong as expected, but now both Kyrie and Nike know what they are capable of and what they can deliver to their clients.
Kicks on Fire shares images of the Kyrie 2 “What the” series together with additional information on the new shoes of the series. The shoes are of untypical color when it comes to sports. The Green Glow top of the shoes is surely a distinct model from anything else on the market. On the side they have the classic Nike logo and on the heel and ankle have been added special Kyrie logos, dedicated to this series especially. The shoes will be revealed on the marked on 12 December, when everyone will be free to see them in shops and make their own mind on the model.
Sneaker News shares more detailed information on the Kyrie 2 Nike shoes. According to them, there will be two versions of the sneakers, first is the Glow Green colored, the other one will be completely white. Only difference between the two models is the outer color and the inside coloring. The Kyrie logos are still there and the inside of the shoe follows the same schematics on both. Detailed drawings and photos of the shoes are available on the site.
The designer of the Kyrie 2 “What the”, Meline Khachatourian, shares her vision of the model and its design. Slam Online quotes her saying that it was never the designer’s desire to just make a colorful, piece of shoe wear. She wanted to implement Kyrie’s life and stories into the shoe, making it a reflection of the name that the model carries. Whether she has managed to reach this goal or she has failed is left to the customers to decide, by voting through their wallets.
