Here's some bad news for die-hard DC fans: It seems like "Justice League 2" is still leagues off from happening because director Zack Snyder needs a break from the franchise. After "Justice League," he'll be helming another film titled "The Last Photograph," which focuses on the trials and tribulations of the sole surviving American war correspondent in Afghanistan.
The original cause for the mega-film's delay was the release of "The Batman," starring Ben Affleck. The sequel for the superhero squad was pushed back to accommodate the stand-alone movie. Then this latest adjustment in schedule regarding Snyder's work was announced just recently by The Hollywood Reporter. But viewers need not worry because "Justice League 2" was just off-set by two years. It will most likely debut in 2018.
'Justice League' spoilers: Batman dates Wonder Woman
In previous "Batman" movies, we've seen how Batman/Bruce Wayne is either too busy saving Gotham City or pining after his childhood sweetheart Rachel Dawes to actually pursue a different love interest. But after "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" came out early this year, rumors started swirling that Batman will fall in love with Wonder Woman/Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) in "Justice League 2" movie.
The two consider each other strong allies but in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," viewers got a bit more. In one scene, we saw some sparks between Batman and Wonder Woman when they flirted briefly when he meets her (in a stunning dress!) for the first time at Lex Luthor's party. "I don't think you've ever known a woman like me," she told him. Maybe more of this will be explored in the new "Justice League 2" movie.
For those who are skeptical about the Batman-Wonder woman pairing, this rumor isn't too far off because the two have actually dated before. Although it didn't last, the "Justice League of America" comic series witnessed them become more than just friends.
Do you think Batman and Wonder Woman would make a good match? Stay tuned for more updates on "Justice League 2" film.
