Android 7.0 Nougat update was believed to be rolled out to some of Motorola's popular devices in the fourth quarter of this year. In fact, the Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 were reported to already have the firmware update in October. However, latest reports indicate that the news was not true.
The roll out of the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Moto Z and Moto G devices was announced by Motorola in the fourth quarter of 2016. Although the update came to the Moto Z and Moto Z Force handsets in November, Moto G4 Plus , Moto G4 and Moto G4 Play are yet to do so.
Now, many are asking when Motorola will finally roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Moto G4 Plus, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Play prior to making it available to other handsets. Given that fourth quarter is will end soon, the said devices must have the Android 7.0 Nougat in the next 25 days, that is, if the Lenovo-owned company plans to keep its promise.
Based on reports, Motorola has confirmed that its other handsets like the Moto G4 Plus, Moto G4, Moto G Play, Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Play, Droid Turbo 2 and Nexus 6 among others, would have Google's new Android 7.0 Nougat. However, it is not clear if the popular Motorola devices such as Moto X - 2nd and 3rd Gen, Moto G3, Moto E3 Power and Moto E3 will get the firmware, according to a report.
Meanwhile, Nexus users are reportedly enjoying the Android 7.0 Nougat for months now. The handset is currently filled with several new features, multi-window mode and improved battery life among others. The Android 7.0 Nougat beta ended in August, but immediately arrived for many, and a number of developer previews, two updates and betas have come since then.
Considering that the HTC has committed a 90-day update windows, it appears like the a similar thing is also being developed for the Android 7.0 Nougat as reports suggest, beginning with the HTC 10 and HTC One M9 among others, according to Gotta Be Mobile.
