"Fast and Furious 8" just got even more exciting with a new title. The eighth installment in the popular franchise has officially received a new name and it has left fans in awe.
Variety confirms that "Fast and Furious 8" will now be called "The Fate of the Furious." Along with the new title's announcement, a 15-second teaser also showed new clips that the upcoming movie will feature when it arrives next year. While fans are excited over the rebranded sequel, some are still left with questions.
In a photo posted on Facebook on Sunday, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Hobbs (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) appear to have been separated by some undisclosed problem. The image reads, "FAMILY NO MORE." The image has then led some fans to speculate that "Fast and Furious 8" will see the two good friends falling apart.
Based on the look on Dominic's face, it appears that he will be the one greatly affected by the rift with his friend. Hobbs, on the other hand, seems to be angry for some reason. Rumor has it that Hobbs and Dominic may tear the gang apart in "Fast and Furious 8" due to their differences.
Some fans further speculate that Dom will betray the "FF" gang, which will be the reason why Hobbs appears to be unforgiving. If the rumors are true, "Fast and Furious 8" may be the most emotional installment yet. Adding to the rift between the two big guys is Brian O'Conner's (Paul Walker) absence.
Paul Walker passed away from a tragic car crash in 2013 and it is unclear if his brother, Cody, has filmed some scenes to somehow give fans a final look at Brian. On the other hand, some moviegoers are expecting to get another tribute for Walker in "Fast and Furious 8" in the form of a second hit song similar to Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again."
"Fast and Furious 8" lands in theaters on April 14, 2017. Stay tuned for more updates on "The Fate of the Furious."
