With the impending release of "Sherlock" Season 4, BBC has released a new trailer that teased of an intriguing storyline and a creepy villain. The teaser clip also featured a rare peek at what appears to be Sherlock's (Benedict Cumberbatch) love confession and other interesting details.
Avid "Sherlock" fans will soon see their favorite British detective on the small screens. With a villain that threatens to unveil all of Sherlock's secrets, the upcoming new season promises to be an exciting addition to the BBC series.
The new teaser clip, posted on TVLine, showed several ominous scenes where Sherlock looked troubled and in the verge of a breakdown. It appears that Sherlock may have met his match in the villain Culverton Smith (Toby Jones).
A few sequences in the said clip hinted of the mysterious villain having a deep understanding of how Sherlock's mind works. Culverton even mentioned that the "very worst thing" that the British detective can do to his friends is to reveal his darkest secret.
The clip even hinted of the "demons" that Sherlock and beloved characters may have hidden away for years. A voice-over featured in the "Sherlock" Season 4 trailer stated, "The roads we walk have demons beneath and yours have been waiting for a very long time."
However, the interesting part of the teaser clip is featured towards the end. With Sherlock standing inside a dark-walled room with two of his friends standing in the background, the detective utters three unexpected words, "I love you."
Meanwhile, Martin Freeman shared in a recent interview on the radio program "EW Morning Live," as cited by Entertainment Weekly, that the upcoming "Sherlock" Season 4 will feature some big changes. Portraying Sherlock's friend and ally John, Free teased that his character's new life status as a father will change the dynamics between the said two protagonists.
