Now that "Beauty and the Beast" is gearing up for its release, every Disney classic fan must have been anticipating for the movie. They can't seem to wait how the live-action adaptation of Disney classic is going to unfold.
"Beauty and the Beast" has already been adapted numerous times, may it be in animated form, musical, or TV shows. This latest version stars "Harry Potter's" Emma Watson as Belle and "Downton Abbey's" Dan Stevens as the Beast.
Emma Stone revealed that she's seen the animated version of the Disney classic "Beauty and the Beast" one too many times. "I can't even think how many times I watched it was a child. I knew all the words by heart. I knew all the songs by heart," she told Entertainment Weekly.
It is said that the storyline of "Beauty and the Beasts" will not be exactly like the cartoons. But it will still follow the story of Beast and Belle.
Their paths came to cross when Belle, a smart, independent young woman, one day went looking for her father, Maurice, who got lost in the forest and stumbled into the castle of Beast, a prince cursed for his arrogance by an old woman who he refused to help transforming into a creature. Beast detained Maurice but Belle offered to swap, leading the romance of the two in "Beauty and the Beast."
Meanwhile, Watson told Entertainment Weekly, in a separate report, that in the animated movie "Beauty and the Beast," it's Belle's father who is the inventor, "I was like, 'Well, there was never very much information or detail at the beginning of the story as to why Belle didn't fit in, other than she liked books." Watson shared.
"So, we created a backstory for her, which was that she had invented a kind of washing machine, so that, instead of doing laundry, she could sit and use that time to read instead. So, yeah, we made Belle an inventor." Watson added.
It is said that there will be a musical featuring songs from the animated feature. Catch "Beauty and the Beast" hit the theaters in the United States on March 17, 2017.
