Come March 2017, gamers will get a taste of Tom Clancy's "Ghost Recon: Wildlands," an open world tactical shooter video game from Ubisoft. The game is set to be released to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC come March 7, 2017, and as been garnering buzz since its announcement in last year's E3. The latest news surrounding "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" is that Ubisoft has released a first look at the 21-region map for the game.
The news comes from Gamespot, which reports that the upcoming "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" has one of the largest open worlds that the studio has ever created. How large exactly? According to Ubisoft, it's a 21-region map, with towns, waterways, and areas that are unique to each region. There's also 11 unique biomes to look forward to.
Technical art director Benoit Martinez recently spoke with Polygon to discuss the awesome 21-region map of "Ghost Recon: Wildlands." He explained that the studio has a "full agenda" for NPCs who "really live in the world" of the game. In fact, they'll be like regular people who sleep, eat, and go to work.

In the highly anticipated "Ghost Recon: Wildlands," gamers will find themselves in Bolivia, where they are tasked to bring down the Santa Blanca drug cartel. Gamers will be playing as a member of the Ghosts, an elite team of the U.S. Army who need to complete missions to take down the enemies in the form of the drug cartel. Gamers will have to do this in Ubisoft's 21-region map.
"Ghost Recon: Wildlands" was first announced during last year's E3, where it earned nominations for Game of the Show, Best PlayStation 4 Game, Best Xbox One Game and Best PC Game awards. It also received Gamespot's Best of E3 award that year. "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" is produced by Nouredine Abboud and is directed by Eric Couzian. It will be playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC beginning March 7, 2017.
