"The Flash" Season 3 featured several interesting storylines such as Flashpoint that changed many things in Barry's life (Grant Gustin), as well as his friends. With Savitar's prophecy that hinted of betrayal, death and a tragic fate, Barry will soon uncover the truth behind the said villain's cryptic message.
The midseason 3 finale of "The Flash" gave fans a peek at Barry's potential future, including an ominous prophecy from a mythical Speed Force being. Featured in episode 9 of the CW series' current season, Savitar revealed how one of Barry's friends will betray him, another one "shall fall" while a third person will suffer greatly.
Without any idea of who these three individuals are, Barry and his friends will be on their guard to ensure that Savitar's prophecy will not happen. However, story speculations posted at Comic Book teased that the villainous character may be referring to the West family.
With Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) able to move and run faster than Barry, he may end up betraying the speedster hero in the near future. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) may potentially die in "The Flash" Season 3 as already shown during the CW series' recent midseason finale. As for Joe (Jesse L. Martin), given his daughter's death and Wally's betrayal, he may end up living a tortured life.
At this point, it is still unclear if Savitar's prophecy is connected to the West family. However, viewers can expect to see Barry, the Wests and their friends trying their best to avoid the said prediction from happening.
In other news, the first half of "The Flash" Season 3 featured the Flashpoint storyline and Barry's attempts to correct his mistakes. Given Savitar's threat, the plot for the bottom half of the season may change to focus on the said villain and his impact on beloved characters' lives.
In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg mentioned that they were thinking of changing the storyline for the back half of "The Flash" Season 3. From featuring Flashpoint repercussions, upcoming episodes may tackle more of the Savitar arc.
"The Flash" Season 3 will return to the small screens on Jan. 24, 2017 on the CW. Watch a clip form the midseason 3 finale below:
