The 26 year old actress Jennifer Lawrence told a story, recently during an appearance on "The Graham Norton Show", about scratching her butt on the rocks of a sacred Hawaiian site. She told it very casually. "There were sacred rocks," Lawrence said to Norton. "I don't know. They were ancestors. Who knows? But you're not supposed to sit on them because you're not supposed to expose your genitalia to them. I, however, was in a wetsuit for this whole shoot, and oh my god, they were so good for butt-itching."
She said that she could have killed one of the crew members unintentionally "It was this huge dramatic deal, and all the Hawaiians were like, 'It's the curse!' And I'm in the corner going, 'I'm your curse. I wedged it loose with my ass,'" she explained. For this she was being called out for cultural insensitivity. Twitter was filled with a lot of angry tweets, as this was the case of hurting someone's religious sentiments.
She faced a lot of criticism due to this. On December 9 she stated on Facebook "I meant absolutely no disrespect to the Hawaiian people," she wrote. "I really thought that I was being self deprecating about the fact that I was 'the curse,' but I understand the way it was perceived was not funny and I apologize if I offended anyone." Jennifer is busy promoting her upcoming science fiction movie "Passengers" with her co-star Chris Pratt.
Both the stars could be seen together a lot nowadays. The movie is also starring Michael Sheen, Andy Garcia and Laurence Fishburne and is due out on December 21 in the US and the UK. Some days before, Lawrence and Chris visited the Ghetto Film School, to give a surprise to the students and answer their questions as well.
