A revised version of the Pokemon Sightings and Nearby Feature for "Pokemon Go" has introduced a glitch to the mobile gaming app. Recently re-deployed to the game, Niantic is already working on a patch to fix the gaming bug.
When "Pokemon Go" was first released, the mobile gaming app had a feature that helped gamers to find the general location of a Pokemon. With a three-step Pokemon tracking system, players were given an idea of how near or far a game character could be.
Shortly after the game's launch, the Pokemon tracking system gained criticism from gamers since it came with many glitches that eventually forced Niantic to disable the said feature. Several months after it was removed, the gaming company deployed an enhanced Pokemon Sightings and Nearby feature.
In a recent announcement posted on the official "Pokemon Go" website, Niantic shared that they made some changes to the functionality of the game's Nearby feature especially when there are few Pokestops in an area. With the said feature set to display the location of different Pokemon creatures around a Pokestop, the recent enhancement allowed rural players to locate Pokemon characters through the Sightings tracker.
However, the Nearby Pokemon feature came with a glitch that sent incorrect vibration notifications to "Pokemon Go" players. Niantic's development team is already working on a fix to address the said bug, according to a message posted on the game's Twitter page.

Meanwhile, many "Pokemon Go" players have expressed their frustration over Niantic's enhanced Pokemon Sightings and Nearby feature. Comments posted on The Silph Road's Reddit forum revealed how Pokemon Sightings would only appear if the Nearby feature shows a certain amount of creatures.
When the Nearby tracker features more than 3 Pokemon characters, Pokemon Sightings would automatically disappear. It appears that the two tracking systems cannot be used at the same time in "Pokemon Go."
At this time, it is unclear if Niantic will decide to make further adjustments to its Pokemon Sightings and Nearby features. However, the gaming company did invite players to forward their comments and suggestions about the said tracking system through its social media accounts.
The "Pokemon Go" Nearby feature and Pokemon Sightings was released to more cities and regions on Dec. 9, Friday. Learn more about the game in the clip below:
