'Heroes Of The Storm' Game Director Dustin Browder Steps Down To Take On New Project With Blizzard

Dustin Browder announced he is leaving his task as "Heroes of the Storm" game director in order to join in a new opportunity with Blizzard Entertainment. His announcement was posted at the Battle.net forum and will take immediate effect, according to reports.

The "Heroes of the Storm" is also a creation of Blizzard Entertainment launched only in 2015 and reportedly, the video game developer is currently working on a new project. At the forum, Browder explained he had already began with the transition process and has handed over his duties to, Alan Dabiri, who formerly held the post of the game's technical director and has 20 years of experience with Blizzard.

"We sometimes get exciting chances to work on other projects," Browder said on his announcement, "I'm going to take one of those chances to try something new at Blizzard," his explanation said further. Although the news may come unexpected to gamers, Browder assured fans "the future of Heroes is in the right hands."

In November, Blizzard Entertainment, employed some individuals for another project that many guessed could be an "Overwatch" single-player mode. Blizzard however said through IGN that the developer is always working on various concepts "behind the scenes, usually on the side or in smaller groups" until the company decide whether to pursue on a larger scale.

It was also announced in October that Tom Chilton, director for "World of Warcraft," has also relinquished his position to start on a new project with Blizzard. His post was taken by Ion Hazzikostas, assistant game director of WoW. Before Chilton took over Heroes of the Storm, he held the position of "StarCraft II" game director.

Neither Chilton nor Browden clarified what specific project each is currently handling, and Blizzard Entertainment prefers to keep the thrill high. Speculations suggest one of these directors may be leading a project on "Diablo 4."
