Apparently, the early bugs and glitches for Battlefield 4 running on the newly released PlayStation 4 are surfacing. There have been complaints about a certain CE-34878-0 error that’s causing the game to crash when attempting to play. But that can be fixed, albeit temporarily.
For all those who are wondering as to what the bug is all about, it’s a certain issue where the player’s save file for the game will be corrupted and will be advised to delete the entire save.
However, although temporary, there are two ways by which fans can attempt to fix this problem. As revealed via a Reddit user, the steps to the first way of fixing this problem are as follows:
Note: Make sure that Battlefield 4 is not running on PlayStation 4 while applying the fix.
Step 1: Go to Settings – PSN – Sign out
Step 2: Now offline, start Battlefield 4.
Step 3: When you get to the main menu, tap the PS button go to your profile and log into to PSN.
Step 4: Now online, select multiplayer and begin playing.
Step 5: Play for few rounds until CE-34878-0 error pops up
Step 6: Follow Step 1 again
While the above fix will not solve the problem completely, it will fix the issue of game crashing on the main menu, and allow you to play the game for at least an hour.
The other way of fixing this problem is by mashing X fast enough to quickly get through the menus and right into the multiplayer section before the error gets a chance to show up on the screen.
However, this is not the only version of the game that’s in trouble due in-game bugs as the PC version of Battlefield 4 also faced similar crash issues since the game’s Oct. 29 launch.
Nonetheless, EA managed to solve few of the problems with the PC version of the game by releasing a patch for the same that brought over a number of improvements to the game’s handling related to network syncing, smoothing, and latency. The patch was also aimed at delivering changes and fixes to in-game balancing, graphical, and miscellaneous issues.
So it’s widely expected that EA will be releasing a similar patch for the PS4 version of the game that will look to rid the game of such issues permanently.
